Event 4 – Adaptation of insurance portfolios to the Paris Agreement, 31 August 2020, 13:00-15:00 MeSZ More than 4,000 portfolios from 179 financial institutions representing around 80% of the market have been evaluated in a first study of this type on the orientation of the Swiss financial sector towards climate objectives. Analysis of financial assets of more than CHF 3 trillion shows progress in aligning with climate targets, but major gaps remain. Under the terms of the commitment, participating governments and financial institutions will use the PACTA methodology developed by the 2° Investing initiative to compare their investments and financing with climate benchmarks. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – a shared vision to end poverty, save the planet and build a prosperous and peaceful world – are gaining momentum around the world.
